Pope Francis appointed Oblate Father Paweł Janusz Kubiak, O.M.I., as Superior of the Mission *sui iuris* of Turkmenistan on 22 August 2026, following the resignation of Father Andrzej Madej, O.M.I., from pastoral governance. Father Kubiak, who has served in Turkmenistan since 2023 and previously worked in Ukraine and Russia, was born in Poland in 1974 and ordained in 2001. Read more →

A New Oblate Mission: Ecuador! (Photo: OMI World)Responding to the 37th General Chapter’s call, the Oblate Province of Brazil has launched a new mission in Ecuador, deepening the Oblates’ presence in Latin America. Fr. Antonio Pereira, OMI, Provincial of Brazil, Fr. Ednaldo, OMI, Provincial Treasurer, and Fr. Jassiel, OMI, recently visited Ecuador to assess the mission’s needs and strengthen ties with the local Church. The visit followed a discernment process to prepare for this new evangelizing effort among the Ecuadorian people.
